CLIENT:
The
client is a leading trading software development company which develops
global trading, decision-support and risk management solutions for
the world's premium investment banks. They cover the needs of the
front and middle office, with full integration to ECNs and a range
of fast and comprehensive analytics, transaction processing and
order management. The client has offices in London, New York, San
Francisco and Tokyo.
The
requirement of this client was for two Senior Java Engineers for
its NY office. They were in need of talent to help design and develop
their real-time custom trading applications for capital markets
using Java/J2EE technology. Candidates needed to have robust experience
in delivering real-time, mission-critical, service-based Java applications
and preferably a good understanding of J2EE and enterprise technology.
The
candidates also needed to be strong in Core Java and Threading and
ideally possessing work experience with trading systems before.
The candidates also required the following:

B.S. in Computer Science
• At least 7 years of related work experience
• Understanding of Java topics such as multithreading, garbage
collection and memory debugging
• Strong Object Oriented Analysis and Design skills
• Experience in building or maintaining server applications
in Java
• Experience in working in the Capital Markets domain
• Besides the requisite knowledge and experience, a keen
appetite to learn
The
client informed us that such similar positions took at least two
month to fulfill and asked us how much time would we take for filling
these vacancies with the ideal candidates, as time was critical
and the client was hard pressed to roll out its trading applications.
The
